Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain residential and commercial roofing systems including shingles, metal, flat, and specialty roofs
- Assist with tear-offs, roof inspections, and preparation of surfaces for installation
- Measure, cut, and install roofing materials according to manufacturer specifications and project plans
- Operate hand and power tools safely to complete roofing tasks efficiently
- Apply underlayment, flashing, sealants, and coatings to ensure weather-tight installations
- Inspect roofs for damage or leaks and perform necessary repairs
- Assist with loading, unloading, and staging roofing materials
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including proper disposal of debris
Qualifications
- Minimum 1–3 years for roofing laborers; 4–7+ years for journeyman roofers
- Knowledge of various roofing systems, tools, and materials
- Ability to read and interpret roofing plans, blueprints, and manufacturer specifications
- Skilled in tear-offs, shingle installation, metal roofing, and flat roof applications
- Must have own PPE and trade-specific tools
- Reliable personal transportation to commute to and from jobsites
